Hi all this is my second week of the bunion op, no pins so maybe lucky , anyway I've got check up this Friday and I'm pretty bothered about what the Dr is going to say about the top layer of the ridiculous bandage removal by myself . It really was loose it was hanging off becoming Loose , so bit worried if that would effect the healing process (1 replies)

... I had a gastronomic recession but I didn't have a lump. I have 4 hammer toes fixed and they all are straight now. I also had a lapidus bunionectomy and you can barely tell that I had a bunion. I think I would go for a second opinion. (3 replies)

I had a gastrocnemius recession on my left calf along with lapidus bunionectomy with screws and a plate/fusion and two "hammer toe" surgeries on the next two toes, shortening them and straightening them with pins. I've been out of the boot for awhile now - perhaps about 5 or six weeks out (had surgery on May 30th - today is August 24th). My calf still has a good sized lump... (3 replies)
... KatieFeet - sounds to me like you are doing a LOT for only five days post-op! I had a somewhat similar surgery done (but no neuromas) - 4 incisions - on May 1, but I am much older than you and I'm sure that makes a big difference. I was told to be mostly non-weight-bearing for almost two weeks. Doctor said I could get up (with the boot and crutches) to go to the bathroom... (2 replies)

My situation did not reach the infection stage but three week after my bunion surgery with permanent pins, the wound where the pins were inserted was not healing and there was lots of drainage, so the surgeon on the third post op referred me to a plastic...
