... It sounds like you have an honest surgeon who isn't giving any unrealistic hopes. I think that you need to talk with your surgeon about a very realistic recovery timeline. You should discuss with them your feelings and fears to really decide if this is right for you. ... Sweetficus, Thank you for the empathy--I really mean that. As others have said, unless you've been through this, there's no way you can really understand. My husband is very supportive and I do have faith in my doctor (even if his instructions sometimes leave a bit to be desired.) But it takes a fellow foot surgery survivor to know how long, frustrating and difficult... (8 replies)
