It's a day after having my 2 screws out and I'm feeling pretty good. They gave me a couple of shots in my foot before the surgery. After trying to locate the screws and poking around a bit, he just unscrewed them,stitched and bandaged me up.Gave me some juice and sent me on my way. It really wasn't all that bad. I thought it was much harder emotionally speaking, having the screw out in the dr.'s office, than my toe fusion last year with IV sedation in the OR.

Wow you had a lot done to your foot, hope it is healing nicely. Although I personally wouldn't say that having the screw out is no big deal, at least to me it wasn't. Thanks for your concerns. I didn't exercise too much really, I run about a mile, then play singles tennis for about 90 min. 5 times a week. But apparently the screw,( there were 2 criss-crossed,) one shifted slightly and was starting to push out against my skin. And since I play in a symphony orchestra professionally, my dress shoes were rubbing against it too.... (44 replies)
Glad it wasn't a complicated procedure! How much exercising did you do? I'm worried that the same thing will happen to me since I plan to exercise as well (as soon as I can!) What were some of the symptoms of the screw being lose? Swelling? Pain?
