... This sounds a lot like what I was going through. I'm sure it's normal. I had a staple instead of a nail/screw too. Foot elevation definitely helped out with the pain from blood flowing to it. I felt numbing and burning alot in the first week or two. And my second toe feels numb too. I think we're foot-twins. (7 replies)

... He is probably going to use the kind of staple that goes across the bone cut that you can actually compress the bones together after the staple is in place.
