... Hi cards5fan, sounds like you had some sort of bunionectomy with akin. Our scenario is slightly different, as I only had the bunionectomy without correcting the big toes. My surgeon decided not to touch them as aesthetically and anatomically they don't look bad, but you can see slight crookedness if I bend my toe 90 degree. The recovery process is much quicker without the... (18 replies)

... Thanks for the responses, I'm sooo nervous lol. I was nervous when I got the stiches out too, that wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be :) Another thing I forgot to ask was, when you had the ex/pins in your foot, did it cause your big toe to point downward, towards the floor? The doctor that is doing my post op checkups, is not the doctor that did the surgery, when she... (11 replies)
... If I were you I'd get a second opinion, and unless the bunions are causing you alot of pain, don't have the surgery. ... Peggy, Glad to hear that the pain isn't too bad. Do you have crutches or are you literally hopping? That sounds dangerous! Yes, I've had my dressing changed twice. 4 days after surgery and again 9 days later. No big deal.
