... I've just had both done. Extreme pain the first few days, settles down after that. Be prepared for spending at least six weeks with feet up and hopefully a good mate/partner to do all household duties. ... that's about right for 3 weeks. I'm at 9 weeks and just at the point of getting back to my long walks. Running would be too much of an impact for a bit. When I went back at 6 weeks for my X-rays my bone was just about healed so you don't want to do anything strenuos on your foot at LEAST until that bone is healed (6 weeks is average for bone healing).
