From your description of a bump on top the toe joint and pain in certain shoes it would seem that you didn't have a true bunion but rather a bump caused by hallux limitus (aka turf toe, runner's toe, tennis toe ) and very common in women who wear high heels. ... Hi cg71, The recovery really depends on the type of procedure you have. For example, a Chevron is usually be faster than a Scarf which in turns is faster than a Lapidus. However, not only the type of procedure, but also your age, health condition, post op care etc will play a role in your recovery as well. ... At 12 weeks post op, I was cleared to do anything. Is this the case? You should ask your doctor. I started off by riding the stationary bike and swimming and then gradually working my way to using the eliptical and back to running.
