... I really appreciated all of the input on this site. I had two screws put in, apparently there is no contest in the literature that the screws are the best method to ensure proper refusion and allignment of the bone after the v cut. There are pros and cons to having the screws in. Sometimes they loosen move and cause pain. My surgeon as most Im sure dont want to remove them... (4 replies)
... im 6 1/2 weeks post bunionectomy (lateral and medial) double osteotomy - 1 screw on medial and 6 on lateral - heaing great - at 3 1/2 weeks i was in a shoe - i can do just about anything with minimal soreness - today i went for final visit only to find one screw of the 6 is forcing its way out - not happy - we have to wait and see if it pushes itself out to determine best...
