... ly. When I try to bend the big toe without help it bends but ofcourse not as far as the toe on my non surgical foot. I guess the more I excercise it the better ROM of I will get. I havent been as dilingent with my bending exercise but I think my light walking helped somewhat. ... (50 replies)

... Helen, any luck with ROM? Mine is still terrible! I am still limping. I did find some good shoes today so if anything will improve my walk, they should. They are called "Merrell" shoes. It's a slip on, low backed shoe. Very lightweight with a ton of cusion in the sole. (50 replies)

... Well, at 5 weeks I was told that I need to continue wearing the boot for 2 more weeks. Then back to the doctor for another xray. I gues the bottom of the foot is healed but the top part of the bone has not mended. It is 80%. Doctor recommended physical therapy as well. I would have actually used a word that started with "A" and ended with "SS" but wasn't sure if I might get in trouble... :p ;) You've been to see a doc HOW many times now since your surgery, and NONE of them were with the actual surgeon... ... escribe PT until I demanded it. You need to be firm with him and tell him you want a prescription for PT. I know for sure I would not have doon as well with my recovery without it!!!! Physical Therapists know how to manipulate the foot exactly to help insure ROM recovery. ... (22 replies)

... eadmill at a snail's pace. I started walking at the rate of 1.1 for 5 minutes. I seriously burned 8 calories total! BUT, walking that slowly helped me get the ROM back into my toe without harming anything. I overemphasized the movement so that the toe really stretched out with each step. ... (23 replies)
