... I'm not sure what the optimum time is to start or whether you can "wait too long." My doctor recommended the massage just after the incisions healed closed. But I think it's better late than never. I'd be interested in other people's opinions who have been using massage. ... (9 replies)

I keep wondering how many people actually have had the incision on the side of their foot when he told me at least twice that placing the incision on the side would irritate the scar and make it worse. It is helpful to know the exact name of your procedure, Akin, Ludloff, Chevron, Mitchel...the list goes on. these are Dr's names that invented a certain type of osteotomy (bone cutting). where the cut is determines if screws or pins are used.
