... I had a gastronomic recession but I didn't have a lump. I have 4 hammer toes fixed and they all are straight now. I also had a lapidus bunionectomy and you can barely tell that I had a bunion. I think I would go for a second opinion. (3 replies)

I had a gastrocnemius recession on my left calf along with lapidus bunionectomy with screws and a plate/fusion and two "hammer toe" surgeries on the next two toes, shortening them and straightening them with pins. I've been out of the boot for awhile now - perhaps about 5 or six weeks out (had surgery on May 30th - today is August 24th). My calf still has a good sized lump... (3 replies)

... Hi fashaww, I know what you mean! I am also 7 weeks post op. I had both feet done at the same time and they didn't react the same to the surgery and they definitely don't heal the same way or speed. So it may be rather difficult to compare in your case. ... (6 replies)

... How long ago were your surgeries? When I was about 6 months post-op, I thought one of my screws was coming out. When I rubbed the top of my foot, I clearly felt the screw and it's bump. I saw my doctor, had x-rays done and found that neither screws had moved at all. The only reason I could now feel the bumps was because all the swelling from the trauma had finally gone...
