If it's not possible for him, try to have someone there with you for a good 3-4 days because you will still be feeling out of it and not yet able (both physically and mentally) to do all those little things. ... This sounds a lot like what I was going through. I'm sure it's normal. I had a staple instead of a nail/screw too. Foot elevation definitely helped out with the pain from blood flowing to it. I felt numbing and burning alot in the first week or two. And my second toe feels numb too. I think we're foot-twins. (7 replies)

The doc said he removed the bump from the toe, broke the little toe, set it, shortened it a little and also made it a little taller (not sure why). He also inserted a plate with 2 screws.
