I just had a bunionectomy, tendon transfer, partial sesmoidectomy and joint implant on 10/23. Another doctor had told me I needed to have fusion a few years back and I said no way, because the recovery sounded horrible and I'd never be able to bend the toe joint.

Sorry you are in so much pain. I too was a dancer, but had to quit at 24 from my accessory navicular being too painful. had surgery last year and despite a rocky recovery, am doing better. I would definitely recommend having both procedures done at the same time! then you only need to have one surgery with one recovery time. Logically that makes sense to me, but then... (2 replies)

I had surgery to remove a bunion on my left foot 12 days ago. I still have pain but that's not the problem. There seems to be some sort of hard layer under the bandage on my big toe, what ever it is , is taking the skin off my toe and digging in badly it's hurts and stings badly.
