I went this week to a pod surgeon who is certified by the foot and ankle society....he said my surgery looked good....he would have put in a hemi implant though, which I did not get. ... Dear GG, I can't wait to hear how it goes, having been there a few times, the waiting is the worst part. I wore a huge ski sock over my cast and a non-slip sole slipper on my good foot, always something with a back on it so I wouldn't fall out. ... The thing about being totally out of it via anesthesia is it's a chance to totally trust in the skills & knowledge of your surgeon & anesthesiologist. They have done this hundreds of times before & know what they're doing. Besides you don't have to see or hear any awful medical procedures while you're out. Give me an IV over a local any day.
