... unionectomy, akin procedure and gastrocnemius recession on Wednesday morning to correct my flat foot and bunion issues. ... I would ask your surgeon what you are allowed to do. It depends on the details of your surgery and what his/her protocol is. I am at 9 weeks and in my third cast, NWB and doing as much as feels comfortable while on my scooter. I had my great toe fused and three lesser toes fused due to hammer toes. I also had three metatarsals shortened. My X-rays looked terrific at six weeks... (2 replies)

... I felt my recovery was going pretty well in that the 1 week visit with doctor didn't find problems in xray, but I noticed yesterday (day 9 post-surgery for bunion, which fused my MT1 to medial cuneiform), that if I tap the top of my toes I can feel it, as well as regular sensation on rest of the length of the toes on *most* toes if I run my finger down the toe. But for the... (10 replies)
... Hello again. It's now 6 days post-op for my left foot lapidus bunionectomy where my doctor used two screws to fix my MT1 to the medial cuneiform (thankfully he didn't feel the need to also do proximal phalanx osteotomy once he was working - one less thing to heal!). Just back from the doctor's office for xrays and he's encouraged, thinking I'll "only" have to wear my cast for... (4 replies)

... Hi LabGimp, It is exactly 13 days after my bunionectomy surgery & hammertoe correction and there are a few things I wished I had planned for. Pre-surgery: Wish I had cut my long hair! It bothered me a great deal that my hair was greasy for the first 2 days after the surgery. One good thing I did though was I washed my hair twice with just shampoo and no conditioner.... ... So I'm 17 and I posted here several weeks ago about my bunions. I went to a podiatrist about it with my mom in august and got the surgery done on my left foot 2 days ago. I am amazed at how pain free it is and easy to deal with. I'm icing it, keeping it elevated, not putting weight on it, etc. ... (1 replies)
... Thanks for your encouraging words! I am 46 days post surgery; the dr. has finally given me the okay to start putting weight on my foot (wearing the boot and using crutches). I can put weight on my heel fairly well but it sure does still hurt to have any weight on the front of my foot! Today was better than yestrday, though, so I'm hopeful that things will only get better. (6 replies)

... ery high pain tolerance, almost asked to stay a second night. But, I didn't have a morphine pump, just Percocet. I think I went out in my wheelchair about 7 days post surgery. I rode in the back seat so I could keep my foot up and had my foot elevated with the wheelchair. ... (8 replies)
