I just had bunion surgery Friday morning as well as hammertoe correction, what they did for me was take out a wedge of my bone in my big toe, put a permanent screw in it to help keep it straight, and then "released" my tendon on my second toe. The surgery itself went fine and way better than I had anticipated. Now, technically the second day afterwards I am in moderate pain... (3 replies)

... Hi - I think the recovery time and pain involved is directly related on the exact type of bunionectly you have. If your Dr allowed you to bear weight that soon, I doubt that you would have done any "damage" by walking on it. It sounds like your recovery is going great!
