... Yes, get custom orthotics. Also buy wider toe shoes. Pointed or too narrow toe shoes cramp your toes and cause bunions. You can also try big toe separators but I don't think they help. ... (3 replies)
... it was definitely easier. The pain right after surgery was similar with swelling and all, but it was a much faster recovery. My doctor used removeable pins, but some may use screws. Probably between the bone being smaller and less pressure is put on that part of the foot and joint when walking, helps things heal easier. I had the pins in for 3 weeks and then it took about...
