... I am walking pretty close to normal now (with the orthotic shoe on). There's no way I can walk normally with bare feet. I can stop wearing the shoe at the 3 week mark. My doctor orginally told me that recovery was 3 weeks. I wish I had researched more thoroughly and would've discovered that for FULL recovery it is nowhere near to 3 weeks. ... At 17 days you should be walking pretty close to normal. And walking on it from day one will keep scar tissue from buiilding up. The lump is probably still some swelling. It's hard to descibe how they told me to dissipate it but basically you stand up with your weight on the good foot and slowly shift to weight being equally distributed on both feet...then walk normally. ...
