... As I have had a cheilectomy in both big toe joints, I've been thinking about your issue. I really can't say what might be the issue though I didn't have the micofracture done. It might be that there jsut wasn't enough cartilege left in the joint but he shouold have been able to see that and the cortisone shot should have worked at least for a while. ... Hardware is plates or screws. So you've had all yours removed? Have you tried the anti inflammatories full time? Did they help when you did use them? It may be that you will always need them - esp if you had lost of lot of cartilege. ( i had two cheilectomies - similar to bunionectomy). Have you tried lidocaine patches? If not a lack of cartilege issue it sounds... (3 replies)
