It used to be go to ER @ harris co hosp district hospital & they fill out all the papers & you would leave ER with a gold card and a clinic appt, in my experience. Idk if it is still this way. ... I didn't qualify for SSi and I only got Food Stamps because I had a 17 yo son. On the Medicaid form there is a little small section for Emergency Surguries. They completly pay for all pre-op, surgery and all post-op treatment until the doctor releases you. Sometimes these surgeries can help you if you going to be appling for SSDI (13 replies)
