... You may have moved a plug of earwax into a smaller part of the ear canal, which now is stuck and blocking your hearing. It would be best to have your ear looked at, but in lieu of that you could use a bulb syringe to try to flush out any wax. If it is hard wax you might need ear wax softening drops instilled first, OTC at all drugstores. Warm the drops and use warm water to... (1 replies)

... Thanks for the reply! Ya, my anxiety on the matter has passed. There is a definite improvement in the volume, but still at a strange pitch. I've been living with tinnitus for a long time, so strange sound is nothing new. I can't wait to be where you are, though. I have stopped reading the boards altogether. ... If you're that nervous it's best to go have it checked. When I fell in January and came to after losing consciousness I knew something was wrong with my hearing. My regular doctor and the ER doctor both said it was just from the swelling, I'm having surgery this week to try and realign the bones in my middle ear that I dislocated when I fell.
