... i was diagnosed with PSVTs (brought on 2yrs ago by pregnancy) and went in for ablasion in june - 3 hour procedure - 1 ablasion- did not know what world i was in - no pain etc.. however they could not get all of the areas because of their proximity to my phrenic nerve (controls breathing) and the fear that i would end up on respirator. ... diana and Chicago, and they are all confused on what is going on. The doctors in CA, have been the most helpful, and thought that they could fix me by doing the ablasion procedure on me, and i guess that takes normally 3 hours they worked on me for 5 hours and could not get my heart to do its little act that it does. ... ... there are serious risks with ablasion - even with the newest machines - trust me i know - i am 34 - had 1 ablasion in june and 9 in july - tach is gone but then was in brady and heart block - got my pacemaker in october. ... i did not say that i have svt with heart block - i had an ablasion to get rid of the svt - too much of the area was burned and i ended up with bradycardia episodes and in heart block.. sorry for the confusion - the pacemaker was due to the heart block not the tach. (17 replies)
... thank you for your response - i have the best cardiologist - unfortunately there are only three electrophysiologists in the entire state - the dr who did my first ablasion was awsome - however he did not have the equipment needed to handle my case ( no one else in the state did either) so i was referred to virginia. dr there seemed very knowlegible but didn't seem to care... ... sounds as if you may be having PSVT (paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia) - it comes on quick - but goes away quick - usually 3-4 minutes - can race up to 250 beats per minute and causes the blood pressure to drop quickly - causing dizziness, vision problems, ringing in the ears, and blackouts at times... i was diagnosed in may and have had 9 ablasions since - helping the... ... I have mitral valve prolapse (with regurgitation) and WPW syndrome. Recent chest pains caused my doctor to recommend the angiogram.
