... either way, you should have a full cardiac workup - EKG/ECG, echo, holter monitor and stress test as well as blood tests to check thyroid and electrolyte levels to see if they can find what's going on and any abnormalities. Back in 2009 when my dr heard what he thought was something serious, he called the cardiologist & EP himself and made me an appt for the next day. ... (2 replies)

SVT or Anxiety?

... My cardio had me do the stress test, ECG, EKG and 30 day monitor. The 30 day monitor showed signs of SVT. The second doc only did an EKG but told me that I must be stressed to have an heart rate of 170 while resting. (7 replies)

... He diagnosed it as SVT. Well, my husband had to have a second oppinion. Another cardiologist gave me an EKG and told me that I don't have SVT, it's anxiety that's making this happen! I'm furious about this because this doc makes this dx without testing and automatically assumes because I'm a woman that it's anxiety! ... (7 replies)

... Sounds like you might be quite an anxious person. Anxiety can exacerbate the symptoms you are describing. Perhaps ask your doctor for something for your anxiety and see if the symptoms subside. I wish you well. ... (4 replies)
