... Confused: having had three angioplasties/two stents since May 1, I totally agree with Fathersson. A cardiac cath is not risk free by any measn and is a significant wear/tear on your body. There was a girl on that board that was 24 i believe and had 2 heart attacks within 2 days, she had a cardic cath and it showed no blocked artery and that is suppose to be the standard gold test in testing. ... confused, Since you had a nuclear stress test that I presume was negative, chances of a coronary artery blockage are rare. Since that is really all that would be disclosed by an angiogram, I wouldn't take the risk if I were you. A cheap and easy test: ask your doctor for some NitroQuick (sublingual nitroglycerine.)
