When do you see the oncologist? I understand from where I speak, so I know how frightened you must be. I just want to say to you that there's still a possibility that "it" can be benign. Not to be repetitive, but did he/she discuss the possibility of the "mass" being endometriosis? It can mimic cancer, as it did in my case. I'd hope to reassure you and let you... (25 replies)
... Hello Again Labgimp...
Opinions and feelings vary based on research and personal experience. I certainly don't have all the answers. I did notice upon reading your post again that you have been taking HRT for many years, so is it possible that your ovaries have ceased to function anyway? I wish you the best no matter what you decide. I agree that you should schedule... (18 replies)

... LAVH is a hysterectomy right? What organs were removed? What do you mean by no bladder control, do you mean your having to constantly pea or are you peeing all over yourself? When I had my hysterectomy (uterus, cervix removed) with a bladder repair (bladder sling), I had to be catherized after the surgery because I could not pea on my own. I was in the hospital for a few days... (1 replies)

... Hey girls...I had my LAVH in April 2009, and compared to the old-school cutting method, it's not as bad. You will be very sore for weeks after, though. By going in Laparoscopically, they'll fill you with CO2 to separate your organs and to make everything more visible by scope. You'll feel like one of those red dodge balls from school...tight, swollen and wanting to pop! ... (8 replies)

I had an LAVH 8 months ago (my how time flies). How long did your doctor say you would stay in the hospital? Mine said 1-3 nights. I stayed for 2, because I was a little afraid of coming home (bed isn't that comfortable and wasn't sure how easy it would be to get around). It ended up I was chomin' at the bit to get home! ;)

Well tomorrow (April 3rd) I go in for my hysterectomy.:( Upon my visit to the doctor for the pre-op appointment (Monday) she told me that she would be removing my uterus, cervix, and my right ovary.
