... Hi Karen. Thanks for reply! I am already on Prednisone. January of 2002, I started with 40mg of Prednisone, I have been reduced on a gradual basis and am not on 10mg of the horrible drug. I know it means well and it fixes things, but the side effects are horrible. I am getting the results of my biopsy this upcoming Friday and he is going to want to take blood to see... (3 replies)

... Okay, I got my liver biopsy today and it wasn't too horrible. The freezing was the worst part. The only thing that the doctor said was that my liver didn't look "consistant" on the ultrasound. ... That's good to hear. Thanks! When I first got sick, my ALT and AST were around 800 as well. Now I am down to about 100. Still high, but much better since I started. ... Hey everybody. I am having my liver biopsy on Jan. 16th, just over a year after of me being diagnosed with AIH. I am a little nervous though. My doctor tells me that it doesn't hurt, but some people experience complications. I know my liver enzymes are not up to par right now and I guess I am just worried that my blood won't clot. Right now, my ALT and AST are around 100... (3 replies)
... Hey there. I am 23 years old and I was diagnosed with AIH in Christmas of 2001. Hep C and AIH are two different things for sure. One of the main reasons (from what I understand) is that AIH is hereditary. And more common in women than men. Hep C you can get from other people or even food. Unfortunately, I am not an expert, but this is all I know. ------------------... (2 replies)
