... Hi Karen. Thanks for reply! I am already on Prednisone. January of 2002, I started with 40mg of Prednisone, I have been reduced on a gradual basis and am not on 10mg of the horrible drug. I know it means well and it fixes things, but the side effects are horrible. I am getting the results of my biopsy this upcoming Friday and he is going to want to take blood to see... (3 replies)

... That's good to hear. Thanks! When I first got sick, my ALT and AST were around 800 as well. Now I am down to about 100. Still high, but much better since I started. ... Hey there. I am 23 years old and I was diagnosed with AIH in Christmas of 2001. Hep C and AIH are two different things for sure. One of the main reasons (from what I understand) is that AIH is hereditary. And more common in women than men. Hep C you can get from other people or even food. Unfortunately, I am not an expert, but this is all I know. ------------------... (2 replies)

... care of my gastroenterologist since Nov 2000. He is supposed to be the most qualified for pancreas problems in the state of Alabama. He is the one that did the liver biopsy but I think he intends to let my rheumatologist oversee my care and consult with him as needed. ... (2 replies)
