... Thanks Sarah! Hubby and I are both 33. We have insurance that covers infertility. If we end up doing IVF we will most likely go out of town to a facility about 1 1/2 hours away since it has better statistics, so insurance will cover 50%. We are both in agreement that we want a baby and if we need to do IVF, we'll do it. We have money set aside for that if we need it. ... (9 replies)

... I did my first IUI this month with Clomid and using the Ovidrel trigger shot (go to the doc Fri for preg test. Cross your fingers!). My doc said it was supposed to induce O in 12-36 hours, but it seems like it took MUCH longer. Due to my own curosity, I used OPKs following the Ovidrel and IUI. I did the shot on a Wed night, had the IUI Thurs morning, but didn't get positive... (1 replies)
... hours after the shot has been given. I think the reason why is you have to give your body time to metabolize the shot and then to release your eggs. I read alot and ask a lot of questions and fortunately my mother in law is a nurse. Good luck and baby dust. ... (2 replies)
... Our RE is starting me on 50 mg Clomid tueday due to part of my hormone is a little low and he said for us to come back the 29th to see how I'm doing on the Clomid an if responding to it he would do a trigger shot of HCG. I'm not sure what brand of shot he will be using. ... (2 replies)
... It's not the trigger, it's ovulation pain! (otherwise known as mittelschmertz). So much better than menstrual pain because you know something good is happening ;-) Totally normal (in my experience, anyway). Good luck! If the pain continues for more than a day or if it becomes unbearable/ with bleeding, contact your doctor. Be sure to look up symptoms of ovarian... (1 replies)

... I am on my 3rd cycle using Clomid, trigger shot, IUI, and Progestrone. I had double IUIs this cycle with my second one yesterday. ... (3 replies)
... pinkie1, Thank you so much for your encouragement! It can be so difficult to go through this when you always assumed your body would "work" when you wanted it to. I will keep my eye on the bouncing ball :) ~ Sarah (9 replies)
... I haven't been on this board for a really loooong time and this thread was the first one I read. I just want to say that I hope you gals don't lose heart in pursuing your dream to have your baby. We went through 3 rounds of IUI with injectibles, each cycle with 3-6 really good sized follicles and DH's couts being excellent, but they all came back BFN. Since our last IUI... (9 replies)
... Thanks so much! And good luck to you as well. No matter how it happens, I just know your BFP will be posted here soon :) (9 replies)
... Good Luck Sarah! I've heard so many positive successful stories about IVF. I'll be so excited to hear of your BFP! ;) (9 replies)
... Well, they said that I should be on them for 19-21 days, but I may be on them a bit longer in order to fully suppress my estrogen level. Once I can stop the pills, I believe it will be a 3-week process of shots/appts/egg retrieval/etc. I will find out soon :) (9 replies)
... I think it's smart that you are not putting all your eggs in one basket :) Keep up the hope that this IUI may have worked, but also look towards the next step. As far as injectibles vs IVF, I guess that depends on your age and pocketbook. For example, I'm 39 so I only did IUI once then moved on to IVF (on BC pills in preparation for it now). But it is very expensive. (9 replies)
... Thanks for the encouragement Sarah K! IUI went well today. Hubby's count was around 93 million and motility was great. So, I guess we shall see in due time. I had that crampy/fullness/ovulating feeling before I went in and just a little bit afterwards, so hopefully the timing is good. I'm going back for another IUI tomorrow at 10AM. Fingers are crossed that the... (9 replies)
... Don't be hopeless! I know it's hard to get your hopes up when it didn't come through the way you wanted in the past, but think of it this way: you are on the path towards having that baby. It may work and it may not this time, but at least you are being proactive and workign towards that goal. Hang in there and get excited about being on that path :) (9 replies)
... I have a question, did you do Clomid first or you went straight to the injections? ... (7 replies)
... the specialist declined to take our money for that procedure as he put it '' that's robbery for such a small chance of procedure working". We just did a round of Clomid and yesterday after ultasound still only one egg? ... (1 replies)
... I would imagine that you would be able to O on your own without the trigger shot. My explanation for the trigger is that it pin points the window of opportunity more precisely.... ... (1 replies)
