Hi! I wish I had some good answers for you, but I don't....
I am in a similar boat as you. I am 31 years old, I went to my doctor on December 10th for my first physical in probably 10 years... the thing that pushed me to go is that for the past 6 months(at least, maybe longer) I have had a dull ache in my upper abdomen that has felt like a pulled muscle. When I had my bloodwork done, my liver enzymes were high so I went back and had my bloodwork done again. It was still high but only double what it should be(originally it was 5x) I do have to add that I would drink a few beers everyday so I'm sure that had something to do with it. Since this whole ordeal started I have not had one drink... too scared....
My doctor wanted me to get a liver ultrasound so I had that done on Thursday and she called to tell me they found a small nodule in my liver....and I need to get an MRI for completion, she doesn't think it's anything to worry about. I have been so scared, living off of xanax until I get my MRI on Tuesday.... I have 2 little boys, one about to turn 5 and the other just turned 2....
I hope that they figure out what is going on with you quickly... it's scary, but I have read lots of things where it turns out to be nothing horrible... so fingers crossed!
My dr didn't tell me what ones were high, she just told me they were high over the phone and I had to get my bloodwork redone... I just assumed it was from drinking because I love to drink beer! But what really freaked me out was with my ultrasound, Within an hour of my liver ultrasound, she called me and said they found a small nodule on my liver and had to get an MRI. Now I am just waiting for the results. I had my MRI yesterday... so hopefully I will get a call tomorrow. My anxiety is driving me insane. Please keep me updated with your results

I'll definitely keep you updated with my results as well, but don't expect to hear anything until my appointment on January 25th. If you get a chance in speaking with your doctor, it would be interesting to know which enzymes you have elevated and by how much. My doctor mentioned that a few points outside of normal they don't worry about. My GGT is over twice the upper limit of normal and that doesn't seem to worry him either, unless it would go even higher for a year or more. I've also read that some doctors don't dig deep until the upper level of normal is exceeded 5 or more times. But, I'm certainly no expert.

I totally understand the anxiety as well. I've had a lot of bad medical things in my family (mother had brain surgery, a stroke, then breast cancer, then ovarian cancer, was in a coma, etc.). The slightest ache makes me think the worst. I took one of those online quizzes and am in the worst category of hypochondriacs. I wish I could shake it, as chances are in our favour that it's an incidental finding that may not even mean much. My mind just seems to be wired towards worry/anxiety. My doctor had prescribed me an anti-anxiety medication, but I'm even too afraid to take that for worry that it may mess with my liver enzymes.

Will be thinking of you and hope you hear back from your doctor tomorrow.
