... I would wager that weight lifting was a huge part of your AST value. Becareful with supplements as they can be a big cause of ALT & ALP abnormal readings. Liver Enzymes

... (From Stagea) To add to my earlier posting, Gama GTP was 393 and should be up to 48. ALP was 965 and should be up to 338. Both coming down with 2 tabs initially per day of methimazole and after 3 months now down to 1 tablet a day. Gama GTP now 174 and ALP 709. ALT and AST readings mostly normal. It will take more time to become normal, but improvement in health is amazing. (6 replies)

... Hi redrdr--welcome to the boards. Dr will probably run a CBC blood test that includes a liver panel. Liver enzymes are usually elevated when you take Acetaminophen(tylenol)...Don't let that worry you too much--the good news is it can be reversed. The liver has amazing regenerative powers.
