... CT scan results show "an orange size mass in the upper left lobe pressing against the chest wall" a "nodule" in the right lung" and a "nodule" on/in her thyroid gland". I looked up her stent placement surgery and it happened in May of 2009 so its been 6 yrs that she's complained of pain in her chest area. They want to do a CT scan assisted biopsy but because she's on blood... (4 replies)
... I am new to these boards. My father in law has just had ct scan results. It was an abdominal scan which obviously looked at chest area as well.
This has shown up at small spiculated nodule (size not know, we only have scan summary at the moment) in his upper right lung. The results also mention an adrenal mass which they say may or may not be malignant.
The summary says the... (0 replies)

... Hi, real quick...haven't you had a biopsy? I know that was the first things they did with my nodules. I would ask for one. I have apparently got a complicated case, (just got diagnosed) so I can't really help, but to say, if it bugs you enough to come to the forum, get the docs buns in gear!!
God bless and good luck, Dana (3 replies)
... I had a chest CT scan and they found 2 nodules on my lungs, one on each lung, appx 3mm in size. I had an MRI done this July 2013 and the nodule on the left lung has grown from 3mm to 7mm. Should I be concerned? ... (3 replies)

... scan in a year. They all felt it had benign characteristics. Funny thing is no matter how much i read up on the message boards i couldn't find anyone who had a nodule that grew but wasn't cancerous. I didn't think it was possible! ... (2 replies)
... All docs think benign but Pulmonologist told me to have it removed. I smoked for 20 years and quit right after the nodule was found. So, I am still quite concerned. They will not know for sure until the surgery. ... (2 replies)
I don't know what to think except the worst case scenario here. In 2008 they found 2 small nodules on my right lung (2.5 mm and 5mm). They checked it again in March of 2010 and they were both same size, no changes and they assumed it was scar tissue. I just did a follow up CT scan yesterday (nov 2011) and was told that the 5mm (which the report said was 5x8) grew a... (2 replies)

... er so we are not concerned at this time but will followup. The small one you have is pretty small in the world of lung nodules and only if it were to change in size would I even consider a biopsy...they are kind of a painful procedure that really isn't necessary unless the nodule grows. ... ... no growth or no new nodules show up, all is well. If the reports indicate evidence of growth, then more diagnostic measures need to be done. My nodules range in size from 3mm to 5mm and at first were reported as indeterminate. My 2nd scan reported that one of the nodules has calcified, which is great news. ... (13 replies)
... Hi Yanksgirl,
Well I love to hear good news, so may I offer my congratulations!!
But being biased, for obvious reasons, I might want a second opinion or the very least ask you doctor what it is about the nodules that flags them as benign for certain?? Did they use contrast dye on the ct scan? My scans are always with contrast dye as well as that barium sulfate to drink.... (13 replies)
... My husband's doctor called today and said he has nothing to worry about, the nodules are 'benign'! We're so happy about that. I do wonder if that diagnosis can be 'for sure' with a CT scan only? This was done at a major medical center (among the top 8 in the country) and assurance by a Top Doc in that center. My husband plans to ask just what kind it is and if a follow up is... (13 replies)
