Lung & Respiratory Disorders / COPD Message Board

Lung & Respiratory Disorders / COPD Board Index

I had an abdominal ct a few weeks ago, following a clear colonoscopy and endoscopy (although we're still trying to figure out how he saw my appendix! LOL). I've had a lot of abdominal pain and swelling right below my sternum and a prelim exam by a gastroenterologist indicated a hard, non-moving mass below my left ribs. At that time, my spleen appeared to be swollen. We had thought that it might be my gall bladder, but my ribs are also very tender on both sides, front and back. I always thought that it was just the waist of my jeans cutting into the bottom ribs that made it hurt.

Anyway, they didn't see anything that would indicate a mass in my abdomine.
They did see two nodes in my right lung and ordered a chest ct. I just picked up the results from that. The report says that the pulmonary parenchyma in the right lung base shows hypoventilation of the lung bases, a 7.7 mm nodule in the right base, showing some calcification, possibly indicating a granuloma. There is also a 5 mm nodule in the same segment.

I had a chest x-ray in February for a different reason, and even though they said that one was okay, the report states that I have a azygous lobe. I've done a little research on that and am completely lost.

I'm seeing a pulmonologist next week, but these docs don't exactly have the best track record. Apparently, the pain in my tummy was my uterus growing back, since the radiologist said it looked fine, but I had a hysterectomy two years ago. :)

Can anyone tell me what to expect? And what questions to ask the doctor?
