Lung & Respiratory Disorders / COPD Message Board

Lung & Respiratory Disorders / COPD Board Index

Several weeks ago while taking a 30 minute walk in the park-brisk pace, temp in the lower 40's with slight breeze-I began to have a "deep" cough , wheezing, with some difficulty off and on taking a deep breath or talk without coughing-also burning sensation in chest. This lasted for about 15 minutes. I thought since it was cool outside-and I did have my mouth covered when I was walking -then coming into a warm room caused it. But the same thing happened again yesterday afternoon. Temp was around upper 40's and after walking about 5 minutes later the same thing happened. I've never had asthma or breathing problems before. I'm in my 50's non-smoker. I take HBP pills but they keep my BP 95/68- pulse around 60. I have been walking 3-4 days a week for the past 4 months weather permitting without this happening. I had carpal tunnel surgery end of Dec.-had an EKG and chest X-ray prior and they were fine. I started using a humidifier at night to see it that helps. I kind of still have a dry cough-feels like I've been in a dusty room.
Can't get into my doctor until later next month. Right now I'm little leary about walking since this has happened twice in a month. Any ideas what it could be?
