thanks for replying I had a spirometry test the letter the hospital doctor sent to my GP said her "lung volume showed a markedly increased residual volume and total lung capacity with reduced gas transfer. Those changes are consistent with emphysema and I don't think we need to pursue this any further". I am not due to see doctor again until September but I did speak to him on the telephone and he said not to worry about it. The doctor is a Rheumatologist I have been seeing him because I have Raynauds and my blood tests were showing Rheumatoid Arthritis although he says I don't have it, I am taking nifedipine for this.
