Lung Nodule
Jan 8, 2014
Hello-

Last February I was having severe digestive issues which led to the emergency room where an abdominal CT scan was performed. My abdomen showed no abnormalities but a 3mm lung nodule was discovered in my lower lobe. The ER doctor suggested that I follow up with my PC Physician regarding he digestive issues and to mention the 3mm lung nodule.

I did follow up with her and she concentrated on the abdominal issues first, which led to a fecal occult blood test-tested positive which in turn granted me my first colonoscopy not yet 50. A 4mm rectal polyp was found along with a pretty sizable Tubulovillous adenoma on my ascending colon. This has to be removed via a right-hemi-colectomy which removed about 12 inches of my colon and 27 lymph nodes all were benign. The growth after pathology came back as HGD (High Grade Dysplasia)

Getting back to the lung nodule she looked at the report and dismissed it as a Granuloma with no follow-up. Now almost a year has gone by and I am wondering if I should have another scan done to see if this nodule as grown? I don't feel comfortable from all that I read about nodules may grow and become cancer? Should I get copies of my reports and see an actual Pulmonary specialist? I really need any input. I have had this on the back burner and don't know how to proceed. Have not had any shortness of breath, or lack of energy, no coughing, etc.

Any input would be most helpful and appreciated.

Thanks,
Laurie
