Pneumonia shock
Aug 17, 2014
My partner went into hospital recently because he fell over and broke three ribs. He had no symptoms of pneumonia at all except that he was confused, had no idea that he had actually fallen three times in 30 minutes and was refusing to stand still. He was quickly diagnosed with pneumonia, which wouldn't have happened if he had had to go to the hospital in the first place. He was kept in for a week on pain killers and having physiotherapy. He still doesn't remember what he was doing before that episode.

He has type 1 diabetes and blood sugar was clearly low. He usually just crumples, but this time he was all over the place.

As the infection was so sneaky, how do we know when it has gone?
