... So, I got the results from the CT scan which just confirmed the results from the x-ray results. They still have no idea what it is. They ordered a whole blood panel testing for Cocci serology, ana/RhF, canca & panca, serum ace, CBC/CMP, CMV & EBV serorogy, as well as a TB test. My follow up is not for a couple of weeks! ... mikilynn, I actually really didnt have ANY symptoms other that excessive fatiege, which I still continue to suffer from. Many of the others who do suffer from MAC have alot of sputum production, coughing up, chronic bronchitis, pnemonia,.. ect..I didnt have any of that. ... Annette, what were your symptoms initally when you came down with MAC? They didn't mention that I had any kind of mass in my lung, they didn't really tell me much of anything, the x-ray said there was "discoid atelectasis" which as I understand it, is just a partial collapsing of that lung. ... Go to a pulmonary doctor and ask for a flexible bronchoscopy. it is done outpatient and can tell you soooooo much more than an x ray or CT. They can take a biopsy right then and also fluid from your lung area to check for it.... ... (8 replies)

... mikilynn, I just have one more suggestion, I think it would be a good idea, for you to get copies of your sputum culture. This, "if you dont hear from us" thing, well, I cant say what I think about that on here... I just think is a REAL GOOD IDEA to have copies of your medical records. Only YOU can be an advocate for yourself, and to do that, you need to be well informed... (25 replies)

... Vanessa & Annette, I feel good off and on, some days are better than others.. if I do too much one day then the next day, not so much. My chest feels compressed (which the pulmonologist can't understand why) I cough a lot and I'm tired all the time. I will, as I said say a prayer for you on Monday, and will be waiting for your results! I have been on disability through work since JUNE! SO I certiantly understand what your going through! ... Actually, I just got off the phone with the pulmonogist and he gave me the CT results over the phone... there's no nodule or mass in the lung, just a "hazy infiltrate" which could be pneumonia or some sort of infection, possibly a fungus. ... (25 replies)
