I just had 3 clots in my lungs and the way they found that their was a problem was threw the d-dimer test as mine was high. then they did the cat scan and saw I had the clots as well as some of my right lower lung being dead. Mine was from being on birth control, smoking, having surgery a month prior and having 2 different blood cloting Genes. I am on coumadin for life now... (3 replies)

If it truly was vasculitis, he may have been forming blood clots in his lungs, which can look just like pneumonia on chest xray, and unless there was suspicion for clots, there was very little time to check that out. ...
