... I was diagnosed some time ago with emphazema,(don't know about the spelling either), and I know that it is a lung desease and all that, but I don't know what to expect out of life. ... Well you can always as for a Xray, agreed its wise whilst being a smoker. So have they done a test on your lungs yet? As for emphazema, again thats brought on by smoking, so again quitting really is the best thing you can do.

I came here and asked questions and people answered...my dr did no lung xray even though she said it may be bronchitis...I do have asthma and have been smoking a lot. ... It is possible to develop Emphysema without smoking. There is a condition called Alpha 1 deficiency. The condition is a genetic disorder where the liver fails to produce an enzyme that protects the lungs. I am not a doctor so I won't use medical terms but I did some research on it since I was originally told I may be developing Emphysema and I am not a smoker either.
