... i was diagnose with PTB last year and was treated for 9 months medication i was cured but it leaves a scar on my lungs which is always visible on my x-ray. i am planning to work and immigrate to canada. would that prevent me from applying for a job abroad? would that be a reason for denial of visa? ... It should not be; however, they WILL do chest x-ray and see that it is not normal. As long as you don't have any symptoms of acute active tuberculosis and that you can show proof to them that you were treated for 9 months with isoniazid for latent tuberculosis, then then you will have no problems with immigration. ... Thanks for the info. She just got her results today and it was nothing but a scar (thankfully). Come to find out the chest xray results were off. The PET scan showed that the spot was actually 6x8 mm and inactive, unlike the chest xray that showed it had grown from 9mm to 13mm. Best of luck to you and your brother in law. (2 replies)

... Sorry about that. Like I said in my last post I was seeing a surgeon. He said that he doesn't want to operate and get a tissue sample since I'm asymptomatic. He is doing another broncoscopy but thinks it's just scar tissue- My nightmare is over for now. Thank God. Pretty scary stuff. In any case, thank you for the info. Keep you posted. (13 replies)
Lung Nodules

... e. I went to urgent care and had a chest xray which showed spots on my lungs. Went in for a CT the next day and have had numerous since, including a PET scan and lung biopsy. I have nodules in both of my lungs that get bigger and then get better....then show up in different areas of the lung. ... (0 replies)
... There is a possibility you could have the beginings of MAC, but it could also be scar tissue or infection of other sorts. Generaly people who do get MAC have some sort of lung compromise or their immune system is compromised in some way. ... (2 replies)
