Its brand name is Mucinex. It also helps to thin out mucus, both post-nasal drip and cough with congestion. ... t be allergies. Try reading some of the posts on that board and see if they fit with your problem. Even if you don't find much in common, there are some posts on sinus irrigation that might help you to lessen your problem with all that mucous. There's also an otc medication that thins mucous so it doesn't bother you so much. ... (23 replies)
