... i am a smoker unfortunately...when lying down i hear a garling noise coming from chest or lungs and then when i cough or clear my throat it goes away instantly.. i'm assuming it's phlemg...also sometimes when lying down short of breath...what do you think? ... (5 replies)
... Hey whatuthink---I was diagnosed with COPD april/2008. Your symptoms sound IDENTICAL to mine! If you don't have COPD than three cheers for you. But if you do have COPD then your better off finding out NOW! COPD is a progressive disease that continues to get worse. ... Perhaps you have a simple case of pneumonia but you won't know until you get lungs assessed and or x-rayed. Not every smoker is going to have Cancer or COPD or Emphysema. But in any of the cases early detection is the key to recovery. So don't be afraid to go to the afraid if you don't go. (5 replies)

... which is a bacterial infection of the lungs. I took antibiotics and a tuberculosis medicine from July 2003 to Sept. 2004 for that. The doctor took me off the medicine but I think I still have the MAC. ... (10 replies)
