Is it my lungs?
Jan 31, 2012
... For about a month, I have been getting sharp pains that last for no less than a minute and occur several times a day. I went to the doctors twice, and both said it was due to stress and anxiety (based off a physicians test, no xrays). I stuck with it since I was a hypochondriac and always worrying about my health. ... Well, I guess I'm just under the impression that asthma would feel more symmetric to my body and in addition to that, I would not cough phlegm up. Also, an albuterol inhaler doesn't treat my symptoms as well as it would a person with asthma I'm assuming? ... (11 replies)
... Why do you think it can't be asthma? What does asthma mean to you? Also, if you don't think it's asthma, what's your theory as to why your right lung feels constricted? When you had the spirometry done, did they give you any puffs of ventolin? (11 replies)
... It sounds like you are well informed on this. I did take a spirometry test (I think thats what its called, where I blew into the tube) and the doctor said it was normal. But, at that time my right lung wasn't feeling the tightness I'm describing. ... Honey, you need to do what my sister does. She got a small baby syringe and a nasal wash. You can buy it at Walmart, I think. Its in powder form. At least the one she uses is. She mixes it with sterile water, sucks it up in the syringe, leans over her sink and sprays it up her nose. She says she gets all kinds of gunk out. I think the phlem and cough is due to sinus drainage... (12 replies)

... Update: Since last entry things seem to have gotten worse. Started seeing a lung specialist who performed a broncoscopy and found a benign tumor in the air passage of my right lung.
