... answers. I too, was a smoker, but, 2 packs a day for many years. I had bronchitis more times than I can remember and pneumonia, a few times, also. I have had nodules on my lungs for years and the radiologist seemed to believe they were from the numerous bouts of the bronchitis and pneumonia. ... (3 replies)

... Did they confirm it was pneumonia? Because I've never heard of this before. I've always believes it was a secondary infection from cold or flu virus. (4 replies)
... othermic. I go the other way with fevers. I slept for 3 days and then had trouble breathing. Went to Dr. and had cat scan which showed the infection plus 2 other nodules that may be more cancer. I did not have a cold, cough or any other symptoms. I am ok now and I hope it never happens again. NO PAIN INVOLVED. ... (4 replies)

... went through alot of stress when everything was actually okay! But one has to check things out when you're told you have a lung nodule. I did have a bad case of pneumonia once and I think that is what caused this nodule in the first place. I was not told by my primary care physician for 10 days that I indeed had Pneumonia! ... ... to worry about. I am not sure if I am comfortable with this, since my doctors have been incorrect diagnosing my chest issues for so long. Twice I was told I had pneumonia and treated w antibiotics. Then, the lung doctor decided I might not even have it! ... (17 replies)

This was 1999 and it turned out to be an old pneumonia scar , which did not need to come out. He left me burning , stinging and in chronic pain for the last 8 years and I am nearly disabled. ... ... That's good news Taz, The emphesema is a concern. Are they also going to monitor your lungs with serial imaging? Was the cat scan the diagnostic tool for your nodules? I was wondering if the radiologist could tell from that. Mine said non-determinate, so the Pulmonologist said it probably isn't cancer, most likely scarring from a recent bout with bronchitis or pneumonia,... (5 replies)
... Hi there Taz :) I was wondering if you pulmonary doc has ever checked you out for Valley Fever. It is great your one nodule has been stable for 7 years. Valley Fever is very common in your area. If you've never been tested I would ask your doc to do one to rule it out. VF is misdiagnosed alot by lung cancer, tb and bacterial pneumonia. I'm sure the emphysematous... (5 replies)
... Hi there. I would recommend you talk to your doctor about testing you for valley fever. In fact anyone with lung nodules nowadays should be tested for VF. Valley fever is misdiagnosed with tuberculosis, bacterial pneumonia and lung cancer. ... (7 replies)
