... This does sound like pleursy. It could also be pneumonia. I recently found out I had sarcoidosis from a lobectomy VATS. Some of the symptoms you are describing are the symptoms you feel from that disease. I have had pain off and on in my chest, fatigue, eye problems, aching all over (arthristis) and there is no way to 100% diagnose this disease. The only way is biopsy. ... (5 replies)
Lung Nodules

This was 1999 and it turned out to be an old pneumonia scar , which did not need to come out. He left me burning , stinging and in chronic pain for the last 8 years and I am nearly disabled. ... I had at least 10 different pneumonia during that time, according to the doctors. I will have to say I have the best lung doctors in Nashville, unless you count Vanderbilt Medical School. ... ... Nothing significant found- normal chest film. They could have been possibly trying to rule out pneumonia, pulmonary effusions, pneumothorax, enlarged heart, and pulmonary embolism.
