... Pleurisy is a symptom, not a disease in itself. Once a dr hears pleurisy they have to figure out what is causing itself and theres a huge slew of things that can cause it(any kind of viral/bacterial infection, asthma, surgery, etc, etc). ... I've had that before..it occurs commonly after being sick with something, especially if it involves coughing. It can also occur after heavy exertion/injury of that cartilage. It can be viral..it can be from just about anything. So its a bit tricky to treat. In my experience, vioxx doesn't work too well but maybe that's just me. I know warm compresses and rest are...
