... Bockc, hello & welcome! As Angel said, ANA can be positive in multiple diseases & conditions, thus it's considered to be only a threshold test. Presumably drs. first consider your symptoms & only then decide which add'l, more specific tests to order. That's why we're wondering about symptoms. ANA is also sometimes elevated due to a passing virus, aging, a family... (2 replies)
