... Hi, Katie: Being 19, I imagine it's tough suddenly feeling sick when you've been so active. I was diagnosed with SLE at age 21, and my thoughts are with you. You said you could call the doctor's office today to explain the positive test results from 2/20. Did they explain everything? I do know that symptoms, and a series of tests (over time) are done to diagnose... (3 replies)

ANA Choice SCR, with REFIL/IFA ANA Pattern= Speckled Titer: 1:80 (note states <1:40=negative, 1:40-1:80= low antibody level, 1:80=elevated antibody level) ANA Choice Screen: Positive Does anyone know what any of this means, it sure seems abnormal. I don't know why I was never notified of this. With it being Sunday I am calling my doctor in the AM. (3 replies)
... Hi. I agree with what ANA can "mean", but I think 1:1280 is meaningfully high. I'm sort of surprised that, with your shins (etc.) hurting, the rheumatologist said "no arthritis", as I think arthritis is a possibility. My shins have hurt forever, it seems, since age 13 (on & off, that is). My pain tracks with barometric changes, which I think is common in arthritis. Re: ANA... (4 replies)
... First I am sorry to hear about you daughter. What I found unusual is the DX of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. That would be the opposite of MCTD, ie Scleroderma which is one of the over-lapping disease associated with MCTD. But with the said, both are connective tissue disease. What was her ANA pattern and level(reference level could be helpful). Also all her lab levels with lab... (9 replies)

... Hi Vee, Thanks for the response. I have only been to one rhematology appointment and this was the results from the blood tests that were done. I had a follow up appointment for Aug. 5th, but was moved up to next Tuesday instead. When they called to tell me that I definitely have a connective tissue disease like Lupus, I asked for my test results to be mailed to me so I... (3 replies)
