... I am new to this and need some help. I was tested this week for possible Lupus due to Lupus symptoms (joint pain in hands, protein in urine, extreme fatigue, mass hair loss). My test came back 1:80 (reference range was 1:40-1:80 for low antibody level) with a nucleolar pattern. Natropath recommended that I go to a rhumetologist and suggested possible scleroderma or... ... Hi, Megan. I think your next step should be to see a rheumatologist, one familiar with lupus in all its guises & with the "close cousin" autoimmunes. Your recent lab footnote on SSA (which is the same as anti-Ro) says it ALL, in my book! Have you seen the "sticky post" that contains the ACR criteria for lupus? Look at the top of the thread list. To sustain a Dx of SLE... (3 replies)
... So the sed rate, elevated above 20, reflects inflammation in your system.. The ANA titer of 1:80 is considered low positive but can be positive in several conditions, lupus and others.
