... Hello everyone, I'm new here and I'm so glad I found this topic being discussed. Two months ago I started having vaginal burning. No itching just slight burning inside the vagina, nothing on the outside. I've been checked for yeast, vaginosis, STD's, pap test, and UTI's all are negative.
The gyno has even tried several different creams but it still continues. After reading... (4 replies)
... Well it wasn't menapause. I tested negative for peri-menapause. I guess #1 I just get cranky from being sick and #2 I guess maybe the 5 lesions on my liver & 2 ovarian cysts (I didn't mention to doc) may bring the night sweats and hot flashes on. I don't know what else would explain it. My family said they can't imagine what I will be like once I do reach menapause as bad as I... (2 replies)
... Hi joy,
I think it depends on what sypmtoms your having. I have very low progesterone, which causes my periods to be very close together (sometimes 2 weeks apart), and sometimes I would have spotting from the end of one cycle to the beginning of the other.
The GYN put me on progesterone for 12 days of the month. This has worked very well. Only once so far my cycle got... (5 replies)
... My dr's kept telling me there was no way too! Finally, at age 39, I was diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Failure or early menopause. All my hormones tested post menapausal.
Ask your dr. to check Estrogen, FSH and LH on day 3 of your cycle. Also thyroid levels too as they can mimick symptoms of menapause.
Good luck~ (14 replies)
... It is possible that your symptoms are due to peri-menopause but they could also be due to your hormones being totally out of whack after having a baby. It can take many months for the hormones to sort themselves out and reach normal levels again and since the same hormones are in play for both pregnancy and peri, you could well get many of the same symptoms.

... Hi Hopeful,
My mother is now post menopause and I'm peri. My mother started to gain some weight and what she did was increase her exercise regimen and weight lifting. She also ate less beef, pork and chicken, increase her intake of vegetables and fruits. Ate less starchy food such as bread and rice and ate whole wheat and brown rice.
She gained only 5 lbs in the last... (7 replies)

Answering my silly questions and helping me to realize that it is what it is and although we should all take seriously our bodies' messages; for me, most of the readings have been related to peri, because the drs weren't able to find... I have also had gastro intestinal problems, but never associated it with this peri-menapause business.

... This is too much of a coincidence. I came to this board today because I had my period 3/1 thru 3/7 and now I got it again today light brownish. I got scared because the last time I went to see my gyn she said let me know if you get your periods more than once in a month. I did tell her that has happened maybe 3 other times to me but that it's too far and few in between. I'm... (22 replies)

... Don't take estrogen! The problem is when we are going through menopause, we have something called "estrogend dominance". It makes you get migraine headaches, it makes you retain water, it makes you gain weight very easily because when you have estrogen dominance it forces your body to store fat! Go get yourself some good natural progesterone cream. I have noticed more... (2 replies)

Weight gain is also an issue with me. It seems to be common for women like ourselves... (2 replies)
